PART-TIME WINE SALES ASSOCIATE

We are currently seeking energetic, personable staffers to work in a fast-paced customer service environment as a part-time Sales Associate. Responsibilities include opening and pouring wine, selling and upselling Wine Club memberships, and working directly with the manager on duty to ensure optimal guest satisfaction. Sales Associate must be positive, engaging, willing to go the extra mile, and excited to share their knowledge of wine and the history of The Winery at Bull Run with our guests while conducting wine tastings.

*Weekend availability is required. Must be 18 or older.*

PART-TIME UTILITY PERSONNEL

We are currently seeking energetic, personable staffers to work in a fast-paced customer service environment as part-time Utility Personnel. Utility staff will be responsible for stocking wine. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

*Weekend availability is required. Must be 16 or older.*

HISTORICAL TOUR & TASTING GUIDE

The Winery at Bull Run is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Tour Guide for its Historical Tour & Tasting program to successfully implement excellent customer service and hospitality for all guests.

General Responsibilities:

Tour Guides are responsible for conducting the winery’s Historical Tours & Tastings. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: greeting and welcoming guests to the property, working outdoors in all weather, successfully conducting walking tours for groups of guests (up to 1 hour per tour), opening and pouring wine, selling and upselling Wine Club memberships, and working directly with the manager on duty to ensure optimal guest satisfaction.  Local history and wine knowledge preferred.

Qualifications and Skills:

Applicants should have excellent customer service skills with experience in a hospitality setting.  Those with knowledge of Civil War history and/or wine/wineries are encouraged to apply, but prior knowledge is not required.  Applicants must have excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills, along with a high energy drive and creative personality.

Other Requirements

  • Weekend availability required (4 weekend days per month)
  • Ability to stand for long amounts of time
  • Work up to 6-hour shifts on your feet with walking included
  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.

INTERNSHIPS

EVENTS DEPARTMENT INTERNSHIP

The Winery at Bull Run is looking for customer service focused individuals who are interested in learning
more about event planning and day of coordination.
This internship will focus on planning public and private events from start to end. Interns will also have a
chance to learn more about wine, wine making, wine clubs, marketing and promoting events.

Programs available:
Unpaid internship
For school credit- 200 hour internship & 400 hour practicum
To gain personal experience in the industry - adjustable schedule

General Responsibilities:

  • Events interns will assist event coordinators host private events from start to finish.
  • Attend client meetings discussing logistics of events
  • Prepare floorplans and Banquet Event Orders for clients
  • Coordinate with vendors prior to and on day of event
  • Involvement with developing creative content and ideas with regards to promotional events,
    marketing materials, and social media campaigns
  • Assist and collaborate with winery’s additional departments

MARKETING DEPARTMENT INTERNSHIP

Marketing Interns will assist the Marketing Manager in day-to-day winery marketing tasks such as proofreading & editing documents, updating flyers & graphics, managing social media accounts, and organizing digital files. At the end of the internship, the interns will be evaluated according to their performance and skills.

Requirements

  • Must be a current college student pursuing a degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Media Studies, or a similar field
  • Must have basic knowledge of Adobe design apps such as Photoshop & Acrobat
  • Must be familiar with mainstream social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, & TikTok
  • Must be willing to learn & utilize online platforms such as WordPress, Tock, & MailChimp
  • Must be able to report to our main office (The Winery at Bull Run, Centreville, VA)

Responsibilities 

  • Editing & proofreading Tasting Room documents to reflect current products, pricing, and offerings
  • Auditing website regularly to ensure it reflects current winery operations
  • Sharing event listings to relevant online calendars & groups (Visit Fairfax, Virginia Wine Love, Local Wine Events, etc.)
  • Proofreading & checking links on winery newsletters.
  • Organizing the winery’s photo & video library
  • Monitoring social media accounts for messages, comments, reviews, etc.
  • Assisting Marketing Manager in photoshoots
