Our Tasting Room is open for wine sales and private events. Seating inside the tasting room is currently unavailable. Seating is available on our Adult and Family-Friendly lawns, covered patio and tents, and limited indoor seating in our Production Barn. Table reservations are recommended every day. Groups of 13 or more must make a Group Reservation in one of our group seating areas or book a private event space.

  • Our bathrooms are cleaned every 30 minutes
  • Our staff are following all best practices provided by the CDC and VDH
  • We ask that only one person per party visits our bar to place wine orders. If a club member discount applies, the person ordering must be the named member on the membership.

Yes! Simply select "pickup" at checkout when placing an order online. Your order will be ready at the bar in the Tasting Room. Wines can be picked up anytime during our hours of operation.

While we like to think our views rival those of any public park, we are a privately-owned farm winery. We ask that if you choose to enjoy our property, facilities, and staff that come along with it, you support us with the purchase of our Virginia grown wine. Table Reservations are required seven days a week.

Pets are not allowed at The Winery at Bull Run for the general comfort of everyone and our neighbor's horses. This includes dogs, cats, birds, iguanas etc. Service animals are always welcome.

Yes! The Historical Tours are a guided tour of the property for $36.50/person with a complimentary glass of wine. Souvenir Bull Run Logo wine glass is yours to keep! The tour normally takes about one hour. Please note this is an outdoor tour and dress accordingly. You may book your tour and learn more by clicking here.

Children are welcome, but must be supervised by an adult at all times. The front yard (1 acre) and patio are 21 years of age and over only. The back yard (2 acres) is designated for adults and children.

You may purchase glasses of wine, bottles for on-site consumption, and food up to 30 minutes before closing time. Bottles-to-go may be purchased up until closing time.

Groups of 13 or more must make a group reservation or book an event rental space. Groups of 51 or more are required to purchase a private event rental space.

Yes, we offer a case discount (12 bottles) of 10% and you can mix and match the wines in your case. Police, firefighters, and military personnel with a valid ID receive a 10% discount on glass, bottle, and food purchases. We also offer special discounts for our Wine Club members!

Any type of tents or furniture other then our own are not allowed, including pop-up tents. Picnic blankets are allowed in Hillwood Park only, unless it is used as a table cloth.

If someone in your party needs a chair with a back, one will be provided.

Yes, designated smoking areas along the vineyard fence line are clearly marked. Cigars are available for purchase at bar.

The Winery at Bull Run has ramps that allow wheelchair access and accessible bathrooms, but as an old historic farm winery building, we are not fully ADA compliant in regards to hand rails or grade of the ramp leading to the winery building.

Public event ticket sales (e.g. Sipping and Painting, movie nights, Haunted Wine Tours, etc.) are non-refundable. If you would like to give your ticket to a friend, please email us at tasting@wineryatbullrun.com to change the name on the ticket for check-in.

Yes, we have relationships with three hotels nearby: Embassy Suites Dulles Airport, Courtyard Dulles Town Center, and La Quinta by Wyndham.

No, any type of amplified music is prohibited.

We can accommodate groups arriving by bus or limo with a reservation prior to 3:00 PM seven days a week with the exception of weddings, private events and group reservations. Reservations are recommended for everyone and required for groups of 13 or more. Please read our policies on large groups above. Buses and limos are required to use the drop off lane in front of the winery and on weekdays should park in the designated bus parking area at the far end of the parking lot. On weekends, a parking attendant or security team member will instruct the bus or limo driver as to where to park.

No, due to Fairfax County fire regulations we do not allow these.

Group reservation spaces are designed for groups of 13 or more to celebrate a special occasion or casual picnic. A group reservation guarantees your entire group will be in a designated private or semi-private area upon arrival with added perks like table service.

We do not allow outside beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic).

You are welcome to bring your own food to our Generals Quarters, Semi-Private Tent, Barrel Room hourly or Production Barn hourly reservation. 
We do not allow drop off or deliveries from a restaurant or caterer with Do-it-Yourself style group reservations with the exception of Amphora Catering
Cooking or heating of food is not allowed. 

We do not allow early arrivals for set up. 
Please take set up times into consideration prior to inviting your guests. 

You may extend your reservation on the day of with an additional fee if the space is available. 
Please ask a manager on duty.

We ask that all spaces be returned to the state in which they were found.
All decorations must be removed from the space and garbage must be placed in the provided trash cans. Additional trash bags are available upon request. 
Wine bottles and glasses may be left behind for recycling.

Decorations are allowed in our group reservation spaces with the exception of balloons, confetti, glitter, open flames (candles) and other items that may be harmful to the environment. 

Speakers, amplified music or live music are not allowed in outdoor spaces.

Table service is offered only in the Generals Quarters and Semi Private Tent.
A wine runner will come to you, take your order and check in with you periodically. 
Winery staff cannot accept orders for food trucks and will not assist in set up or clean up.

Yes, you can bring in your own furniture with a private or semi-private space reserved.
All items must fit and stay within the reserved space at all times. 

We are delighted that you are considering The Winery at Bull Run as the location for your photos. The guidelines outlined below are intended for all guests, but a permit is necessary for those who wish to use the winery as a backdrop for posed or directed photography. We ask all photographers to please help us to maintain the enjoyment of the winery by honoring these policies.

Please note that Prom photos are not allowed at any time.

Guests are welcome to take snapshot photographs of the winery, individuals, and subjects that capture the events of your visit. TWABR defines a snapshot as an informal photograph that is shot spontaneously and quickly without artistic intent. Guests should still observe our policies under General Photography Guidelines. You may share your photos of TWABR on social media outlets, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Please note that Prom photos are not allowed at any time.

TWABR defines portrait photography as all wedding, engagement, quinceañera, family, maternity, portfolio, graduation, and any other posed portraiture of individuals by professional photographers or amateur photographers, whether paid or unpaid. TWABR reserves the right to further define Portrait Photography on a case-by-case basis.

Please adhere to the following guidelines to make your photography session successful and enjoyable.

  • Flow of visitors and traffic along driveways and pathways must not be blocked at any time.
  • Pets (with the exception of service animals) and outside beverages are not allowed.
  • Please be mindful that wedding ceremonies and other events may be taking place in close proximity to the allowed photography locations. If members of a photography party are boisterous or unruly they will be asked to leave and the photography and admission fees will not be refunded.
  • Please do not move, alter, or draw on any structures or anywhere on the property.
  • Please take all props or materials with you and leave TWABR as you found it. Glitter and fake snow are prohibited.
  • The use of drones is strictly prohibited.
  • Please check in with the manager on duty in the Tasting Room upon arrival to obtain the official photographer credentials:
    • Lanyard with photographer name, date, and session time
    • Lanyard must be clearly displayed at all times
    • Lanyard must be returned when session is completed
  • TWABR does not provide staff to assist with or monitor photography sessions.
  • Wedding photographers working with a bridal couple who have purchased rental time at TWABR are exempt from purchasing a permit as long as their work is limited to wedding activities for that couple. Wedding photographers must schedule a shoot time no later than 72 hours in advance if the shoot is not scheduled for the couple’s rental time.
  • TWABR reserves the right to deny access to sections of the winery and property due to booked events.
  • Rescheduling must be agreed upon by TWBAR prior to the new shoot date. There are no refunds. In case of inclement weather, call 703-815-2233 to reschedule.
  • Photography policies are subject to change without notice.

A permit is required for all posed formal photography and videography. Permit sales are subject to availability; the number of permits sold for each day is limited. Permits must be purchased in advance online. Permits are booked from 11 am–1 pm, 1-3 pm, and 3-5 pm Monday through Thursday; blackout dates may apply. Two bookings are permitted per time block. A minimum of three (3) business days is required to process the permit; a $25 charge is added to last-minute requests of less than three business days.

One-Time Use Photography Permit: $100

  • Permit is good for one named photographer for one year.
  • If more than one photographer is associated with a company, additional permits may be purchased for $50 per permit.
  • With purchase of annual photography permit, individual session reservations are still required, but at no additional cost.

Photographer shall be responsible for and does hereby relieve, release, and indemnify the Winery at Bull Run (TWABR), including its members, staff, volunteers, board members and guests, for all costs, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including attorney fees) by reason of any injury or damage to any person or property upon the premises occupied and used by the Photographer where such injury or damage was caused by or as a result of the acts or failure to act of the Photographer, agents, workers, or employees. TWABR shall not be liable or responsible to the Photographer, the Photographer’s clients or to anyone else by reason of theft, disappearance, or damage sustained by the Photographer or others in connection with the use or storage of items at TWABR.

The signing of a Photographer Permit Agreement and Policy does not stipulate exclusive use of TWABR. TWABR reserves the right to refuse admittance for photography and/or change its Photographer Policy without advance notice.

Unless purchased from the winery, food trucks on site, or an approved caterer, outside food is NOT allowed indoors OR in the covered patios or tents (does not apply to semi-private tent rental). You may bring your own food to the winery to enjoy on our expansive outdoor picnic areas and at Hillwood Park.
You may transport your food in picnic baskets, lunch boxes, and shoulder bags with ice packs. Coolers are not allowed. Any and all food must fit at the table you are sitting at as we do not allow "food only" tables or tables to be used as buffet stations.
Grills: Due to the historical, yet highly flammable, materials and the local restrictions for food licensing, grills are not permitted at the winery.

To maintain our compliance with the laws which govern our ABC farm winery license, we do not allow outside beverages of any kind. You may leave your beverages in your vehicle. All bags brought onto the property are subject to search. Wine, bottled water, juice, and a variety of sodas are available for purchase at sales locations.

We offer a variety of artisan meats, cheeses, peanuts, crisps and other snack foods available for sale at all times at the bar. Water, juice, and a variety of sodas are also available for purchase.

Pre-order a gourmet picnic prepared by Amphora Catering to be ready and waiting for you at the winery when you visit us.

Preorder Monday–Friday, 8 AM–6 PM by calling 703-938-3800 or emailing catering@amphoragroup.com to place your order. Place your order with Amphora 24 hours in advance of your visit (48 hours for a Sunday visit), and it will be available for pickup upon your arrival, hassle free!
