Are children allowed at the winery?
Children are welcome and must be supervised at all times. The front yard (1 acre) and patio are 21 years of age and over only. The back yard (2 acres) is designed for adults and children.
Can I bring my pet to the winery?
No. Pets are not allowed at the winery for the general comfort of everyone and our neighbor's horses. This includes dogs, cats, birds, iguanas, etc. Service animals are always welcome.
Can I bring a tent, furniture, or picnic blanket?
To preserve the look of our beautiful winery, tents, furniture and picnic blankets are not allowed. If someone in your party needs a chair with a back, one will be provided.
Can I have photos taken at the winery?
Yes. Please see our photography policies below. Prom photos are not allowed at anytime.
Can I bring a speaker to play music?
Amplified music, Bluetooth speakers and live music is prohibited, unless a private event space is booked with our events team.
Do you offer tours?
Yes. We offer Historical Tours of the property including a flight of three Bull Run Wines and a complimentary souvenir logo wine glass. We also offer seasonal tours such as the Grape to Glass Experience Tour of our wine production facility and the Haunted Wine Tour. Click here for more information.
What safety policies have you implemented for COVID-19?
- Our staff are following all best practices provided by the CDC and VDH.
- Our bathrooms are cleaned every 30 minutes.

Are masks required at the winery?
Face masks are not required for fully-vaccinated guests, and recommended for unvaccinated of not fully-vaccinated guests.
Can the winery accommodate buses and limousines?
Yes. Buses and limousines are allowed on the property prior to 3pm only. Drivers will be guided to the drop off lane and a designated parking area.
*Does not apply to private event and wedding guests. Buses and limousines are allowed at all times for private event guests.
Do you have food for sale?
Yes. We offer a variety of artisan meats, cheeses, fresh baguettes, crisps, and other snack foods at the bar.
We also have food trucks on site on the weekends.
Can I bring my own beverages?
To comply with the laws which govern our ABC Farm Winery License, we do not allow outside beverages of any kind. You may leave your beverages in your vehicle. All bags brought onto the property are subject to search. Wine, bottled water, juice, and a variety of sodas are available for purchase at sales locations.
Can I bring in a cooler?
You may transport your food in picnic baskets, lunch boxes, and shoulder bags with ice packs. Coolers are not allowed.
Can I set up a "food only" table?
Any and all food must fit at the table you are sitting at as we do not allow "food only" tables or tables to be used as buffet stations.
Can I take photos at the winery?
Yes. You are welcome to take snapshot photographs of the winery, individuals and subjects that capture the events of your visit. "Snapshot" is defined as an informal photograph that is shot spontaneously and quickly without artistic intent.
Can I post my photos on social media?
Yes. You may share your photos of The Winery on social media outlets, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Be sure to tag us @thewineryatbullrun (FB) and @wineryatbullrun (IG).
Do I need a photography permit?
A permit is necessary for those who wish to use the winery as a backdrop for posed, portrait, or directed photography. Please see below for definition of posed, portrait of directed photography.
Definition of Portrait Photography
The Winery at Bull Run defines portrait photography as all wedding, engagement, quinceañera, family, maternity, portfolio, graduation, and any other posed portraiture of individuals by professional photographers or amateur photographers (paid or unpaid.) We reserve the right to further define Portrait Photography on a case-by-case basis.
